/ The City of Lefties

Synopsis

Salvador de Santos goes to Lima in order to investigate why “Ojos Verdes” son committed  suicide.

Salvador meets Lazaro in dreams, who assures him that there is no room for lefties in the Kingdom of Heaven.
As he progress in the investigation, meets different characters from the Lima night that lead him to a dangerous dead end.

The novel is widely documented in the city of Lima, Peru.

About the Graphic Novel

2012 was pretty bad year for Spanish economy. I had to look for a job as an expat and I spent Christmas at Denmark working a few meters from the “Animation Workshop”, Viborg’s Animation School.

On my return I found a message in the mailbox that would mark my next destination and to which I did not pay much attention at first. A company in Chile offered me a job at Lima, Peru.

I decided to cross the puddle and have a look, signing a one-year contract. Later, that was transformed into almost four.

There are so many stories in Lima to hear and tell, nothing like what it is really to live them. Impressed by the clash of cultures, I decided to write a black series plot, where I could include some of these anecdotes and somehow express the emotions I felt in that contrast between Europe and Latin America.

Thanks to the support of The Community of Madrid Aid to Literary Creation 2018, I have been able to develop “The City of Lefties”. Widely documented in real places, for me, it is a short trip back to Lima and one of its dark corners.
